Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE) – the only IB Candidate Primary and Middle School west of Storebælt
AAGE is a product of the fact that the business community in Aarhus expects a significant increase in the number of international employees in the coming years. Moreover, it is an acknowledgement that quality international schooling, a globally transferable education and the opportunity to establish a stable life in Denmark are key to integrating international families into the Aarhus area.
IB candidate Primary and Middle School
1st September 2012, AAGE was accepted as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP), with the expectation of becoming an authorized IB World School in the next 2-4 years.
As of August 2012, AAGE has implemented and offered an IB education, with English as the primary instructional language, for students from 3-16 years of age. Educators at AAGE aim at develop each student to their full potential by building a stimulating, cultural diversity, and educational environment. The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
As of November 2011, AAGE has offered an international preschool and kindergarten, which focuses on providing children with a well-rounded, international programme and prepares them to enter the IB system.
After School Activities
AAGE offers an after school activities programme open to the community of Aarhus and not only AAGE’s students. The programme is an extension to the students’ day where they continue to learn and develop social skills.
AAGE welcomes both international families and Danish families who consider living abroad and/or wish to provide their children with a unique, international, and high quality education.

International Secondary Education Programme
The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an internationally driven and recognized course available to students aged 16 to 19, which opens doors to leading universities around the world. Because the Diploma Programme is offered in 139 countries around the globe, IB students become part of a greater community united by the same mission statement and learner profile.
In the Aarhus region there are two schools offering the IB Diploma Programme:

- Grenaa Gymnasium
